PortalFeeder Training - How To Create A Pre-Sales Page That Gets Results

So what does it take to create a winning pre-sales page? Many of PortalFeeder’s members got a good grounding in pre- sales page creation during the 2008 Bootcamp but one of the things that struck me was that despite the intensive training, it’s still a difficult skill for many to come to terms with.

A winning pre-sales page is really not that difficult to construct once you understand the basic principles.  Maybe breaking it down into chunks will give you a much clearer insight into what a pre-sales page should contain. I have listed the following:

- you create an appetizer to get the audience interested

- you go into the main details like your personal experience

- you then deliver the knockout line which will entice the reader to click the link

But before we actually put pen to paper you need to clarify a couple of things firstly. They include identifying who your prospect is. This is important. Who will you be writing your sales page for. One of the best ways to get inside your prospect’s head is to simply imagine yourself in their shoes. Once you think you know then work out the problem they are trying to solve.

Write down the trigger points you feel would resonate with your prospect. After you’ve done this then deliver the solution. Not just deliver it but what it did for you. You are a shining example of what the product can do. You were in their place at one time and needed help with your problem You tried everything but it all failed and then…..

Can you see where we are heading here? By telling a story relating to your own experience you are in fact touching those important trigger points which is getting your prospect excited.

And how long should your pre-sales page be? Well, as long as it takes you to get your point and story across. But follow the three principles above and remember to create you page in chunks and at the end of it, you should have a workable pre-sales page which will get you results.

Look out for our next post in this series of PortalFeeder training where we will give you some examples of the process described above.
